Sitecore Hackathon Interview

The Sitecore Hackathon is an community event organized by Akshay Sura and supported by Sitecore Technical Marketing. The results of the Hackathon 2018 where amazing; 220 participants, from 25 countries, divided into 74 teams, competed over 24 hours to build the most creative Sitecore module that demonstrates their competency in one of four categories: Commerce, SXA, JSS, or xConnect. The results will be announced and celebrated at the Sitecore User Group Conference (SUGCON) in Berlin.

After the announcement of the winners we had a very nice chat with Mark Styles and During the Sitecore User Group Conference 2018 in Berlin I had a very nice chat with Mark Styles and Jean-François L’Heureux (from now on called JF) one of the winners of the Hackathon.

The first Sitecore User Group Conference in India

Sitecore’s first major User Group conference in Asia, was held in Bangalore, India, on May 16-17 2018. Originally the event was intended to accommodate 150 people, but interest exceeded expectations and the event reached more than 200 attendees.

Before the event we hosted a v9 Developer Certifications standalone exam. SUGCON India 2018 consisted of 18 sessions, put together by both Sitecore staff and elite community members, with Cloud and Commerce receiving the most emphasis. Talk about a great experience; the 6th User Group Conference Europe

SUGCON Keynote presentation

Held in Berlin, April 23-24, Sitecore User Group Conference Europe marks the largest community event to date. A total attendance of 600+ people, coming from all over Europe, North America, Middle East and even Australia and New Zealand.

I had the honor presenting the opening keynote of SUGCON EU together with my Technical Marketing team. I started the keynote sharing my experiences and the evolution of SUGCON. How SUGCON started in The Netherlands in 2014 hosted by the Dutch User Group with 90 attendees growing in a few years to the largest Sitecore community event with 600 attendees in Berlin.  Thanks to the SUGNL and SUGDK to make this happen!

SUGCON EU history

This year we had a jam-packed itinerary of over 40 sessions, put together by Sitecore employees and community members, had something interesting for everyone to see and learn about regarding the latest release: Sitecore 9.
